These concerts were a unique blend of new Australian compositions for choir and chamber orchestra with poetry and visual art. They featured fresh new Australian music by Sally Whitwell, David Basden and Dan Walker along with a few past favourites and some quirky new gems!

The core of the concerts was Breath of Kindness, a suite of three songs by Sally Whitwell that was commissioned by the Gentle Exercise Morning Tea Group. This group (friends of the LEC) commemorated seventeen years of friendship by commissioning Sally to write this music celebrating women's love and friendship, resilience and strength. The songs are:
   * Some Future Time (texts: Sappho; Dorothy McRae McMahon)
   * Twisting Up (text: Marie Tulip)
   * Breath of Kindness (texts: Dinah Mulock Craik; May Sarton; Maya Angelou)

Composer Dan Walker wrote Were all the Stars to Disappear and Die for this concert. He also provided choral arrangements of Sting's Fields of Gold and James Reyne's Reckless. LEC also reprised three movements from Dan's 2008 Seven Deadly Sins Suite. LEC's Composer-in-Residence for 2012 (David Basden) contributed a series of musical textures that were accompanied by readings from Sappho's poems. The choral program was rounded out with Longing by Elena Kats-Chernin (originally commissioned by LEC and Moorambilla Voices in 2009 as part of the Baiame's Ngunnhu Suite).
